Frontline Cancer: Top scientists to tackle cancer challenge
Frontline Cancer: Elizabeth Blackburn has spent much of her career at the forefront, a pioneering researcher whose work has garnered virtually every major award in science: the Lasker, Gruber and Gairdner prizes, for example, and, of course, the 2009 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for her discovery of the molecular nature of telomeres – the protective caps at the ends of chromosomes that preserve genetic information.
